Today was the first day of Advent! We actually missed church because we suspected that Daniel was sick (still not actually sure on that front) and didn’t want to risk infecting the entire congregation of Mount Hermon. We did however have our first Advent reading as a family at lunch and talked with Daniel about the symbolism of the candles (as if he gets it, I know but you can never be sure how much they catch). Tonight at dinner, we read our portion from John and lit the candle again. Most of the other things that I’ll do with the boys doesn’t begin until December 1 so you’ll have to wait for a couple of days to see that.
Cute moment of the season so far: I walked into the kitchen and caught Daniel sitting on the table holding the baby Jesus from the nativity that is serving as our table decoration for Advent and Christmas. I asked what he was doing and he just said, “Jeez!”
